Bulletin 37 - Working with GOD

Currently with the catastrophic Ukrainian - Russian war and many worrying disasters around the world, including the floods in the eastern states, we feel a need to renew our relationship, because we are completely aghast. Many Christians are already effective in working closely with God, not against Him. This bulletin briefly sets out some principles for those who are not reaching a closer communication with God, in an effort to be of assistance. But we would need to make a sincere effort on our part, not expect God to clear all our worries and problems, that is to act responsibly, and treat others as more important than ourselves. To achieve a relationship we must respond to God's calls, to be effective communicators may take a while. It is time for a decision! Do not be afraid to get on with this.

We begin with faith in God, it's a prime requisite that we trust Him. There has to be an intense desire and we look to the bible to give inspiration in the Psalms and in Lamentations, especially those written by David; however other portions of the bible may better suit some people.

Many of David's verses present him as very weak and in need of help and protection from evil and physical harm. That is what our situation is like We may be looking at problems entirely from our own point of view and need God's love, wisdom, assurance, and protection. So that is where frequent bible readings and contemplation are very useful. We call upon God by asking for His help, 'ask and it shall be given. This alone is of enormous assistance, after all, it is God's universe and we are but members of His flock of sheep.

There is a need for sincere humility and respect, for example when we enter God's church there is quiet and reverence, not much talking. Afterward we are free to socialize as we like. Protestants have dispensed with the entry ritual for entering God's house, but please don't take advantage of that, God is a King needing respect and adoration from our hearts, let us not overlook that.

Do we see a pattern in our lives? It can be useful if there is something that we identify through contemplation and then make adjustments for living in accordance with God's will. Sometimes dream patterns may also need analysis as there may be a message from God, even a matter overlooked that may be begging for attention. It is through prayer that we gain help and understanding for a change.

In conclusion please re-read this and where necessary consider adopting a regular prayer and bible reading regime as suggested. We look for peace and restoration in affected regions.
