On ANZAC DAY, celebrated on 25/4/21, many Australians commemorated the landing of the ANZACS in Gallipoli and the WW 2 veterans and also other war veterans, in spite of the COVID lockdowns. The scale of these national commemorations are almost unprecedented in history. ANZAC DAY is undoubtedly the most sacred day for Australians and New Zealanders, not forgetting the important Easter period for all devoted Christians. We do acknowledge ANZAC DAY though we hate warfare.

Christians hold sacred the sacrifice and sufferings of Jesus Christ and his death on the cross followed by His miraculous restoration to life three days later. Christ died for all that we might have everlasting {spiritual} life through Him. We ponder about this in our hearts and praise God for his beneficence, love and grace. Even those who are non-religious will recognize the sacred from the rest of their lives, even with a limited understanding of the meaning.

The sacred means the opposite to the profane, that is the very best of our earthly reverence. It's known in the spiritual sense, not as gross or materialistic - for it generally comes about through acknowledging past selfless sacrifice and service, beyond duty, that has its living benefits. Commemoration is not perceiving the events now as it's about the memory of past sufferings and happenings- and recognizing how much better off we are from that event. Jeremiah 33:3 KJV -Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.

The sacred reminds all people that we don't confine our attention to what is perceived by the five senses, but there really exists much that can't be grasped that way; and it is so very important. Not only is there reverence but love is expressed -and that is what Christ commanded us to do. It reminds us that God exists, but we can not perceive Him objectively -our loving Heavenly Father. Revelation 3:8 says- I know your deeds. See, I have placed before you an open door that no one can shut. I know that you have little strength, yet you have kept my word and have not denied my name.

Concluding, it is important to recognise and remember the sacred.

Blessings to you.

AMEN
