Bulletin 11: You do not need to be afraid.
I'm mainly addressing the unbelievers and skeptics outside, not the church people of all faiths, in this bulletin. But it's hoped that all will be interested and may reflect upon this vital message.
If you want to remain ignorant and outside God's glorious kingdom, that is your business. But if you wish to embrace Christianity, a type of ethics, and sort out your peace with God, and yourself, then believe and attend church. It's then our business to assist you. There is no need to be afraid or shy!
You will receive a special welcome from us, and God does not punish those who are seeking Him. For God loves all of His creatures and especially "His Children" (all ages). John 8:12 says: When Jesus spoke again to the people he said, "I Am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the Light of Life".You are forgiven, encouraged, and given hope in life, so what else can be any better than that?. How do we know this?
We say that Jesus' accounts are solid, and He is the second in the Godhead, our risen Lord. He came to deliver the Ministry and to be our Saviour from a spiritual death. Jesus gave a glorious message to the world that is still very relevant to us today and forever. The historicity of Jesus is without a doubt as testimonies come from disciples such as Matthew, Mark, Luke, John and Peter, that is about events that actually occurred. They accompanied Jesus on His mission of preaching and watched Him miraculously healing many people, even recovering some from death. These biblical accounts offer evidence about Jesus as they are agreed on events, that is multiple attestation. There is the account of Jesus' crucifiction and his miraculous rising to life, as was predicted. Moreover other outside reports from non-christians have appeared that add to the extraordinary testimony concerning Jesus and they have been historically verified. The solid nature of Christianity's core claims appear in Luke, a physician, well educated and making reference to secular history and writing with investigative language. Luke was a contemporary of eyewitnesses. Luke's historical veracity was improved by the use of other Gospel sources.
Luke 1:1-4 NIV says:
1. -Many have undertaken to draw up an account of things that have been fulfilled among us. 2. just as they were handed down to us by those who from the first were eyewitnesses and servants of the word. 3 Therefore, since I myself have carefully investigated everything from the beginning it seemed good also to me to write an orderly account for you, [the] most excellent Theophilus. 4. so that you may know the certainty of the things you have been taught.IN CONCLUSION: How we know what we know about Jesus, the Son of God, has been briefly covered, giving the historical nature of sources within the Gospels and mention of the criterion of multiple attestation including the validity of Luke's Gospel. Are you now ready? Or do you have any questions?
AMEN
